Project examples: Fuel cell system components

Development test bench for

H2 tank system components

Test bench for the development and validation of high-pressure components. This includes tank nozzles, containers, pressure regulators, shut-off and check valves as well as low-pressure shut-off valves for the hydrogen supply. Measurements are fully automated with temperature-controlled media in a conditioned environment using extensive, in-depth safety technology.

Temperature chamber inerted with a large burst disc

“Fastfill” replication

Dynamic pressure and mass flow control, pressure pulses

Integrated leakage measurement technology for H2

Test bench for

H2 tank system components

Leakage and functional testing of tank system components such as valves, lines and pressure regulators under temperature-controlled ambient conditions. Locating the leak in the inertised and tempered chamber is possible while the experiment is being conducted.

Test bench for high pressure hydrogen tank systems

It is possible to carry out online leak detection during testing by measuring the hydrogen concentration present in the climatic chamber.

Integrated test bench for the cycling of complete vehicle tank systems under climatic ambient conditions. Integrated leak detection

Dynamic test bench for membrane humidifiers with climatic chamber

In this system, the testing of humidifier modules and separators also takes place in combination with a charge air cooler in dynamic and stationary operation. The process takes place at different media temperatures and pressures as well as at variable ambient temperatures.

Test bench for functional testing of anode loop modules

Component testing system for functional testing of anode loop modules and H2 metering valves, H2 recirculation fan, jet pump with or without metering valve and water separator.

-25°C to +100°C environment

Gravimetric determination of condensate quantities
Dynamic adjustment of gas mixtures and moisture

Test bench for fuel cell system air supply modules

Development and service life study of compressors for the air supply in fuel cell systems. The compressor is attached to the test bench and draws in air from the test room environment via an intake silencer. This air is compressed, humidified and released again in an expander. Air conditioning is an available option.
